9'1 Byrne

finally arrived -- ordered 6+ months ago via south coast LBs. kinda feel bad buying another tuflite pop-out, but lighter is better for my back. never been super happy with the tudor; hopefully this will be the one -- much more high performance. just in time for summer....

joust (1982)

totally original concept. and just terrific gameplay. plus you could play side-by-side with a friend, either competitively or cooperatively. probably the arcade game that i came closest to "mastering." an all-time classic for sure

defender (1981)

a true challenge. look at all those control buttons! to get good at this one was definitely a badge of honor. and i dropped enough quarters to get pretty decent. such a fun game. the start of a love affair with williams.

missle command (1980)

another mind-blowing game. perfectly captures cold war era nuclear fear mentality. i distinctly remember seeing this at intercontinental airport (IAH), playing it repeatedly, almost missing a flight, and then getting yelled at by my dad as a result. also one of the few games that ported really well to the atari 2600.
